School Motto

The school motto of "Discern the truth, act in justice" is quoted from the Doctrine of the Mean, one of the Four Books of Confucian philosophy.  While learning, it is important to use all our faculties to find out the truths about the world.  But we must not limit these truths to the realm of our knowledge.  Instead, we must act based on such truths, in a way that imparts and preserves justice in the world.  As written in the Bible:

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says.  Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.  But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. (James 1:22-25)

We hope that after thorough reflection and analysis, students can utilise what they have learned, and act in a way that coincides with justice.
